Helping young people find their footing before they find their future.
At Seedstep, we support young people aged 13-18 across Herefordshire and Worcestershire, with particular experience supporting neurodivergent young people who may benefit from extra guidance, confidence-building, and practical support as they prepare for adulthood. Whether a young person is struggling with self-esteem, finding their place in education, preparing for college or work, or simply needs some extra support to navigate life's challenges, we provide personalised growth mentoring built around who they are and what matters to them.
We believe the best growth happens through genuine relationships, real-world experiences, and doing things that spark interest and enjoyment. From art, photography and creative projects to cooking, gardening, gaming, exploring nature, and getting out into the wider community, we use young people's interests as a starting point for developing confidence, independence, resilience, and Preparation for Adulthood skills.
There is no one-size-fits-all programme here. Every young person is different. Our role is to help them discover their strengths, find their footing, and feel more prepared for whatever comes next.
Because adulthood doesn't come with instructions, but nobody has to figure it out alone. 🌱

How it works
(and what it feels like)
Growth mentoring isn’t sitting in a room talking for the sake of it.
We do things.
Art projects that help with focus and expression.
Cooking simple meals that build real independence.
Games and challenges that quietly build problem-solving, social skills, and resilience.
Everyday life skills that make the “grown-up bits” less overwhelming.
It’s practical, creative, sometimes a bit chaotic in a good way, and always grounded in what the young person can actually use in real life 🌱

Transitions
(the big stuff)
Growing up is full of transitions, and they don’t always arrive at an ideal time.
We support young people through changes like: getting ready to begin life at a new school
starting college
preparing for work or training
or stepping towards more independence in daily life.
We break things down into manageable steps and build skills that make those next stages feel less overwhelming and more doable 🌱

The Seedstep approach
Flexible. Interest-led. Real-world.
I work alongside young people in a way that meets them where they are, whether that’s at home, in the community, or a mix of both.
The goal isn’t perfection. It’s progress that actually sticks, in a way that feels achievable for them 🌱

Confidence and preparation
Everything we do links back to real-life independence and Preparation for Adulthood outcomes
But this isn’t tick-box learning or sitting through lists of targets. It’s woven naturally into activities, conversation, and real experiences that feel meaningful and, importantly, enjoyable.
Around here, ordering a hot chocolate can be a rite of passage. Between sips and conversation, we practise everyday independence, build confidence in the real world, and gently explore goals and what comes next. 🌱

Understanding
I am Melly.. the founder of Seedstep and I have ADHD. That’s not just a side note, it genuinely shapes how I work.
I understand what it’s like when attention doesn’t behave, when motivation comes in waves, when “just focus” is not helpful advice, and when traditional support can feel like it’s speaking a completely different language.
That lived experience helps me connect with neurodivergent young people quickly, without needing them to mask, explain everything perfectly, or fit into a rigid structure first.
We work with how their brain actually works, not how it’s “supposed” to work 🌱
